Summary
- We’re deprecating the feature previously called “Workspace Pulse Check” (now referenced as “Catch Up Surveys”) from the Workspace Health Rotation and will remove after August 1, 2025.
- We’re adding a new “Pulse Checks” feature that serves a similar goal, but with a simpler approach and more flexibility for the workspace and teams. This feature is already available and can be tested as of July 8, 2025.
- You can wait until we automatically migrate your workspace after August 1, 2025, or migrate manually. For more info, see “Migration” below.
What will change and why?
How Workspace Health worked before
Workspace Health was designed with two different goals in mind:
- Make all teams regularly talk and reflect about certain items in their retros
- Gather workspace-wide data on certain items at fixed intervals to monitor the health of your organization as a whole
This made the feature complex and its behavior hard to predict. The way that the second goal was achieved also interfered with the autonomy of teams to plan their own retros.
How Workspace Health works now
Therefore, we redesigned the functionality around each goal individually:
- Goal 1 will still be served by the Workspace Health Rotation. Frequencies for individual items and Catch Up surveys (previously called “Pulse Check”) will be removed. Keep using it if you just want all teams in a workspace to talk about certain items in their retrospectives regularly.
- Goal 2 can now be achieved with the new “Pulse Checks” feature, where workspace admins can define surveys that are automatically sent out across all teams on set intervals, which happens independently of the individual teams’ retrospectives. Individual teams can optionally still integrate the results from the Pulse Check surveys into their retros.
You can watch this video to get a quick overview of how the new feature works.
Teams that are excluded from the Workspace Health will be excluded from both the Workspace Health Rotation and the Pulse Checks.
Please let us know if you have a use case that requires teams to be included in one but not the other!
Migration
Automatic Migration
After August 1, 2025, workspaces that have the “Workspace Catch Up” setting (previously “Workspace Pulse Check”) enabled in their Workspace Health Rotation will be migrated to the new Pulse Checks automatically:
